Data Access have announced the release of version 4.6 of DataFlex Content Manager (formerly known as Electos). The most important difference is that this version is compatible with DataFlex WebApp Server 2016 (v18.2) and that the studio now reflects the same new DataFlex branding.
Other than that, important improvements are the new visual design of the Studio, and enhanced notification emails. Another welcome new feature is the ability to export and import Document structures, and before importing document structures, it checks for duplicate records. The FCK editor now supports a Syntax highlighter.

We are pleased to announce our recent collaboration with the MacMillan Cancer Support and the Christie NHS Foundation Trust in the provision of a new secure on-line advisory forum.
Following cancer treatment, some people require long-term support which can be complex in nature. In order to provide expert advice from a range of specialists, the MacMillan virtual multi-disciplinary team (vMDT) platform has been created to facilitate this.
The new vMDT platform developed by Asckey Data Services is a secure, user-friendly online forum providing healthcare professionals quick and easy access to multi-specialist advice for patients with complex or severe chronic symptoms following cancer treatment. The aim is to improve the outcomes and quality of life for people experiencing these issues.
The awards have been in place since 1997 and since their conception, they have become a leading event. Recognising and rewarding innovation and best practice within the Huntingdon business community, the Gala awards ceremony earlier this month at Burgess Hall, St Ives was attended by a wide range of local businesses who’s hard work and dedication had been recognised by the team of judges from the local business community.
Asckey were finalists in the Innovation Award catagory for fmfirst® PLACE mobile, a mobile application that simplifies the NHS PLACE data collection process. Replacing the former Patient Environment Action Team (PEAT) inspections, PLACE is the new system for assessing the quality of the patient environment.
In recent years, the digital agenda in health care has been the subject of an array of promises and plans, ranging from the Secretary of State’s challenge to the NHS to ‘go paperless’ to the commitment set out in the NHS’s Five Year Forward View to ‘harness the information revolution’. But have expectations been set too high? And is there sufficient clarity about the funding available to achieve this vision?
This report looks at the key commitments made and what we know about progress to date, grouped under three broad themes:
- interoperable electronic health records
- patient-focused digital technology
- secondary use of data, transparency and consent.
It identifies barriers to further progress and opportunities for delivering on the digital agenda.
Asckey successfully completed the ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 27001:2013 recertification and interim audit in 2016. The audit was successfully completed with no non-conformities identified.

Compliance ensures increased operational efficiency, improved documentation, fewer customer complaints, and greater employee awareness.
It enhances customer satisfaction through effective systems application, including processes for continual improvement and the assurance of system conformity. ISO 9001:2008 requirements are generic and applicable to all organisations, regardless of type, size and product/service provided.
New BMA deputy pledges to highlight funding crisis
